The door edge guards in this kit are designed to fit on 1-3/4" thick doors, and the latch plate comes with optional deadbolt knock out plugs to accommodate two different knob-to-lock hole center spacings. For doors hung with a large enough gap between the jamb and edge of the door, these plates can simply be mounted on the surface of the door jamb, whereas others may require the plates to be mortised into the door jamb for the best fit.
