Engineers adjusted the tonality, output impedance, and frequency response of the Beyerdynamic T5p headphones for use with the Astell&Kern sound signatures offered by the company's AK100 II, AK120 II, and AK240 personal media players. Accordingly, a special equalization setting has been added to the media players for use with the headphones. The 2.5mm terminal for the headphones supports full-balanced output and a 2.5 to 3.5mm interconnector is provided for use with the first-generation Astell&Kern players, as well as other mobile devices and portable players. An extension cable and 1/4" (6.35mm) adapter is also included. The headphones are handmade in Germany with velour earpads and a sheepskin headband for improved comfort during extended listening sessions.
