This 10 foot long vinyl coated cable by Boss Pet is built tough yet lightweight so that it is easily portable as well as less stress on your pet. This 20 foot long vinyl coated cable by Boss Pet also features our patented Comfort Snap swivel clamp. Most tethering product lines offer a spring-loaded model to absorb some of the strain placed on the pet when they get to the end of the tether. Existing technology, like that found in all competitor tethering programs, use the traditional "loop & sleeve" connection with a screen door spring inserted into the tether end. This existing design has the following flaws: The wire forms leave exposed hooks that can cause (and have caused) injury to the pet or owner (Our design is fully-enclosed with no exposed wire hooks); If the spring fails, the pet is generally free to roam (Our design actually allows the spring to fail WITHOUT the pet escaping); If the spring fails, it is usually fully compressed at the time of failure and, upon failure, metal parts go flying through the air, causing injury (Our design encloses the spring so parts will not be flying through the air at pets and people nearby); Existing designs require the use of the "loop & sleeve" connection with that connection's inherent flaws (Our design employs the preferred metal-on-metal, direct connection providing greater strength, reliability, and safety).
