The Doernbecher x Nike Zoom Fly SP is one of the models released in the 2018 Doernbecher Freestyle Collection. The vibrant colorway was designed by Doernbecher Children s Hospital patient Payton Fentress, who was diagnosed with Crohn s Disease in 2010. The multicolor Zoom Fly SP running shoe takes inspiration from Payton s electric personality, as well as his two favorite sports teams, the Chicago Cubs and the Portland Trailblazers. Each shoe features callouts to the last year the Blazers and Cubs won championships, 1977 and 2016, respectively. Special graphic details are found throughout the shoes, including Greatest of All Time on the medial side of the midsoles, baseball-shaped logos on the tongues, and a photo print of the Cubs on the left insole. The limited edition Doernbecher x Nike Zoom Fly SP released in December 2018.
