Although it makes a delightful groundcover that lights up the sunny or shady areas of the landscape, it can also be used as a climber on trellises, fences and other structures that provide support.
- A kaleidoscope of color that truly inspires the visual senses, featuring evergreen leaves marbled in seemingly endless patterns and hues or orange, yed, yellow and white, the Summer Sunset Asian Jasmine is a dramatic addition as a groundcover, climber or spiller over walls in the landscape or in container gardens, where its bright colored foliage flows over the containers edge.
- Summer Sunset Asiatic Jasmine is exceptionally easy to grow. It tolerates many soil types, including clay, but prefers and will spread faster in a moist but well-drained, loamy soil. It will tolerate temporary flooding but does not like constantly soggy or wet soil. Grows in sunny or shady areas. Established plants are quite drought tolerant.
- Its appeal as a groundcover has grown tremendously, but don't let that fool you. Its potential applications as a single hanging basket item, mixed container component, or even accent plant for seasonal holiday d cor are endless!
- New leaves are red turning a creamy yellow and provide hues of green, blue-green, orange, yellow and red with beautiful variegation. Grows 6 to 12 inches tall and 18 to 24 inches wide. Deer resistant. Drought tolerant once established. Needs frequent prunning for thickness.
