The new format, developed by Native Instruments themselves, is an open, multi-channel audio file that contains a track split into four musical elements - bass, drums, vocals, and melody for example. With each element available independently, you can mix in ways that just weren't possible until now. The four touch-sensitive performance faders and knobs instantly correspond to each stem part, ready for mixing, EQing, or adding effects to individual elements. The display immediately switches to the Stem View when a Stem file* is loaded onto a deck.
