Description
- Century Gothic is a slightly lighter wood letter style that looks modern but yet has classic lines and details. Perfect for names on a wall in a business or for directional signage. This is our lower case style only. These wood letters are a 100 American Made product. Our thick wood letters are cut on a CNC router.
- There are differences when we cut on a laser and a CNC machine. One of the major differences is that the CNC machine uses a cutter and the laser uses light to cut the wood. Because these letters are cut with a CNC machine, there are limitations to how it can cut. An interior square corner is impossible because the bit is round so there will be a slightly round radius on any interior square corner. The edges of the wood will need a light sanding to make them completely smooth.
- We cut our plywood letters with Baltic Birch plywood. This is not cheap plywood. There are distinct advantages to using Baltic Birch plywood versus lesser quality plywood's. The main difference is in the edge quality. You will find more plies per inch and no voids in the plies. This will make the decorative wood letters more stable and they can be painted, stained or decorated easier will less finish work.
- The plywood that we use also has no VOC's and is formaldehyde free so it is safe to be around and use. We use this stuff all day every day, if it wasn't safe to use and turn into fine dust and smoke, we would not have it around. The size of each letter is based upon an uppercase A.
- Each font is completely different and there are certain fonts where the letters are "non-conforming" in size. Please realize that a lower case letter that is ordered in whatever size it is that you are ordering is based upon the uppercase A and might be significantly smaller than what is described in the size.
