The Marantz Professional PHA-3 is a high-end headphone amplifier for production field work. It provides three independent headphone feeds from balanced or unbalanced sources, and can drive headphones to high levels at audiophile quality with low distortion, so it's ideal for high SPL environments. If your other equipment-and ears-are up to the job, PHA-3 ensures you'll hear it. The PHA-3 features a rugged metal case and the ability to daisy-chain additional units utilizing the Loop outputs for multiple sound engineers on remote shoots. The amplifier runs on 5-17VDC external power or you can switch to internal power utilizing two AA batteries. A dual-color power LED turns to red to indicate when 4 hours of battery life remain, so you never get caught by surprise with a dead amp at the worst moment. Each PHA3 has 1/4" headphone output connections and 1/8" headphone output. Yes! Connect the LOOP OUT port to the LOOP IN of an additional PHA3. This lets you "daisy chain" multiple PHA3 units together. Use the included 1/4"-to-1/8" TRS cable or any standard 1/4" TRS cable. The Marantz Pro PHA3 can be powered using the included power supply or using AA alkaline batteries for wireless use. The batteries will last approximately 12 hours when powering one set of 75 ohm headphones or approximately 8 hours powering one set of 56 ohm headphones.
