Description

  1. Frame/Fork: The Berm is manufactured using 6061 Aluminum, known for its high strength to weight ratio. The 29er frame can fit a 2.5" tire, a bottle cage mount and internal cable routing keeps things clean. The Fork is a Partner 695 suspension fork that features a lock-out, adjustable preload, and 120mm of suspension. The stations of the fork are 32mm in diameter to better withstand flex and keep handling stiff and predictable.
  2. Tires/Wheels: The Berm runs 29x2.25" CST Caballero tires, providing all the grip needed for riding singletrack trails - knobs extend off the tire a little more to increase grip. 29" wheels roll over rocks and tree roots easier than 26" wheels and are faster on flat ground too. Double wall aluminum rims, stainless steel spokes, and hubs with sealed cartridge bearings all withstand the extra abuse that IS mountain biking! Thru-axles keep wheels secure and properly aligned for the disc brakes.
  3. Drivetrain: L-Twoo supplies a durable, dependable, and accurate shifting system. At Head, we chose the A7 1x10 speed group which offers a wide range in gearing. Designed with a single chainring and equipped with a 42T large cog paired to a single 30T chainring you get a lower than 1:1 gear ratio meaning steep climbs suddenly become flatter. Trigger shifters are easy to use, even on rough terrain plus the chainring teeth are a narrow/wide profile to help prevent the chain from jumping off.
  4. Brakes: Disc brakes are commonplace on MTBs, but hydraulic brakes are a must for off-road and that is why we used Tektro hydraulic. Allowing you to achieve full stopping power with just one finger, keeping the rest of your fingers on the handlebar, and keeping you in control while navigating rough sections of trail. Hydraulic brake systems are fully enclosed just like cars, and they also self-adjust as the pads wear. This reduced maintenance and keeps the power and feel of the brakes consistent.
  5. The Berm frame geometry is more suited for trail riding with a relaxed headtube angle and a slightly lengthened top tube. It also features wide handlebars that give riders more control matched to a shorter stem that improves handling. These features work in combination for quick and nimble handling with the added stability of a longer wheelbase. There is a rubber chainstay protector to protect against chips on the drive side chainstay, locking grips.
