- Problem: BMW use cast iron flanges on their stainless steel exhaust, so whilst the exhaust has a very long service life, the flanges that connect the mid section to the back box doesn't. BMWs solution is to offer a brand new exhaust as the flanges can't be replaced easily as the end of the pipes are flared.
- Symptoms: Usually fails due to a blowing exhaust, most likely at the time of MOT.
