LuminSkin MSH is also known as SkinWhite MSH. INCI name: Undecylenoyl phenylalanine. It is well known that melanocyte-stimulating hormone (MSH) and tyrosinase play critical roles in the production of melanin. LuminSkin MSH represents a novel mechanism by which to inhibit melanogenesis. It can suppress the production of melanin and the skin pigmentation process by antagonizing MSH and inhibiting tyrosinase. In a double-blind, vehicle-controlled study, 2% of undecylenoyl phenylalanine was shown to achieve a significant lightening of melisma lesions with minimal side effects. Applications: Add it to skin-lightening and whitening products including lotions, creams, and makeup products. Recommended use level: 1-2%. It does not dissolve in water very well. In order to mix LuminSkin MSH directly into a finished cream or lotion, it must first be melted and dissolved in some warm oil (80°C/176°F); otherwise it will form lumps and will not dissolve.
