Description

  1. YOU MUST PLUG IN AT 2 DIFFERENT ROOMS: Using a non lighted heavy duty extension cord , plugin the EVDOUBLER-120 at your garage and one Other room . YOU CANNOT PLUG INTO JUST ONE OUTLET. Before you start, locate two 120V non GFCI lightly loaded outlets and test them for proper grounding with the yellow Tester'. . Kitchen outlets are usually GFCI and cannot be used. If you are charging at more than 12A use 5-20R 20A outlets and an AWG12 extension cord
  2. START IN THE GARAGE: See the 2 steps in the diagram Plug one end of the extension cord into the non GFCI outlet in the garage. Take the other end to the Other room. Plug one leg of the EVDOUBLER the non GFCI outlet, plug the other leg into the extension cord. Plug the Tester into the EVDOUBLER. If you have 3 LED's you have 240V. REVERSE ENDS - READY GET SET GO . You may need another heavy duty ext. cord
  3. HOW DO YOU GET 240V FROM A 120V OUTLET? - The power coming into your building is 240V on two separate 120V wires . Half of your outlets are on L1 the other half on L2, If you combine them you get 240V. In your power panel, adjacent circuit breakers are on opposite phases and that is why your electric stove or dryer outlets use a double breaker. Combining L1 & L2 is exactly how the EVDOUBLER gets 240V.
  4. TROUBLE SHOOTING AND FAQ: 1. If the first outlet you try does not give you 240V, turn off that outlet's circuit breaker so that you do not keep testing the same circuit over and over. ---- 2. If the POWER TURNS OFF when you start charging one of the outlets is a GFCI. Use a different outlet.
  5. DO NOT USE UNLESS YOUR VEHICLE IS COMPATIBLE - CHECK THE LIST https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083Q21QGK ---- CAUTION - FOR ADDED SAFETY: Always unplug EV Charger first. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083Q21QGK, ---- TO PLUG IN - Check that everything is unplugged, then plug in the ext.cord/EVDOUBLER then plug in EV Charger. ---- TO UNPLUG - unplug EV Charger then the ext. Cord & EVDOUBLER.
