- GRADE A AMERICAN HICKORY HANDLE - LINSEED OIL FINISH - 150 GRIT SANDED Each axe handle is sourced from Grade A American Hickory that is hand finished and selected for density and grain orientation, finished by hand and sanded to 150 grit with boiled linseed oil for a comfortable and smooth finish to avoid blisters over constant use
- C50 HIGH CARBON STEEL - 53-56 HRC - The axe head is handforged using a drop hammer, requiring Helko Werk's highly trained blacksmiths using tongs to hold hot steel while shaping each individual axe head as a drop hammer falls onto it to craft the perfect axe. The head is buffed and polished to a highly reflective finish that reduces cutting friction and improves rust resistance
