Phoenix etched on a stemless wine glass. Across all cultures there is some version of the phoenix in human legacy, and it always tells a story of transformation, rebirth. The phoenix is a symbol of rising out of the darkness and into the light - the result is complete conversion, rebirth. In Alchemy, it is Fire, Sun and Summer. In Chinese symbols it is often depicted in pairs and symbolizes the Yin and Yang. In Greek mythology it is depicted it as a beautifully plumed bird that would burst into flames and die, but would rise 3 days later from the ashes to be reborn. It was even used in the middle ages to depict Chris who was crucified and rose 3 days later. Power, transformation, rebirth, renewal, the Phoenix is a symbol which should inspire us all.
