Description

In the summer of 1998, three long time friends from Middletown, Ohio set out to perpetuate a musical style pioneered by such bands as Rush, Yes, Dream Theater, and other inspirational progressive rock artists under the moniker of PERSPECTIVE. Combining the great classic synth sounds, and complex songs yet memorable melodies with more current production PERSPECITVE X IV, (featuring Rod Middleton on guitars, midi pedals, and vocals, Chris Matthews on bass, keyboards, midi pedals, moog taurus pedals, and vocals and Ben Burton on drums, percussion, and vocals ) Is sure to please old school progressive rock-fans in the highest order. Writing began shortly thereafter on the band s first album entitled (Coming into Focus) . This was Recorded in 1999 at On-Line Studio in Cincinnati, and was praised highly, garnering 14 out of 16 stars in the spring/summer 2000 issue of Progression Magazine (issue 35). The disc also received countless downloads over the then extremely popular mp3.com. The follow up release (Progressions) combined remastered tracks from (Coming into Focus) in addition to new tracks. This disk was also received very well. The band then recorded an entire CD of new material in hopes of drawing label interest, exciting Lance King owner of Nightmare Records bringing back the nostalgia for the bands he loved in his 70 s youth of prog like Rush, Kansas, and Yes. Now being released on Nightmare on June 24th, 2008 s (Shadow of Doubt) is sure to garner a large smile from all fans of 70 s & 80 s Prog Rock.
