Description

Specially formulated mixture containing buffering compounds, together with calcium, magnesium, potassium, and minor minerals. Reconstitutes reverse osmosis, distilled or deionized water to provide a base for mixture of seawater mixes for marine aquariums. Particularly useful to assist in establishing proper calcium, magnesium and buffer levels for reef aquariums. Provides heavy calcium and magnesium to assist deficient or poorly designed salt mixes. Contains no phosphates, nitrates, silicates, or organics to pollute the system!Directions:Dissolve Osmo•Prep Marine in water prepared by reverse osmosis, deionization or distillation, then add sea salt mix and use for initial tank setup or for water changes. If using low end salt mixes, use two teaspoons or 10 grams Osmo•Prep per 10 gallons (38 liters) of water, or more if resulting buffer and calcium tests are low. Water may appear cloudy at first, this will clear shortly. Follow the manufacturer's directions for the amount of salt to add. Osmo•Prep is not required for Kent Sea Salt because it is designed for purified water, but may be used if you desire higher buffer, calcium and magnesium levels. It is recommended that only 1 teaspoon of Osmo•Prep Marine per 10 gallons be used when preparing water with Kent Sea Salt. It is recommended that you test aquarium alkalinity after mixing and regularly thereafter and use Kent® Marine Aquarium pH•BUFFER or Superbuffer-dKH to maintain alkalinity at about 10 dKH. For reefs, test calcium level and add Kalkwasser Mix, Concentrated Liquid Calcium, Turbo•Calcium, or Tech•CB to raise, if required. Coral-Vite will give superior results, and regular use of Essential Elements will replace valuable minerals lost to protein skimming and filtration.Contents:salts of sodium, calcium, magnesium, and potassium, carbonate and bicarbonate
