Testing/Tips, -On receipt and every couple weeks, test your detector with propane or unlit butane from a cigarette lighter. -Place alarm near ceiling for natural gas or other buoyant gases and near floor for propane, butane. -See the displayed gas levels in LEL go up before the alarm sounds at 5 LEL, with 100 LEL being the minimum gas concentration for fires/explosions.
