- I find the stone, cut it into slabs, cut out the shape and polish the stone in my humble little shop in Arizona. After all of that, I sit down in my studio and hammer the wire to fit the stone. This pendant is made of Afghanistan Lapis lazuli/Pyrite and hand wrapped in 13 gauge sterling silver wire.
- In ancient times Lapis Lazuli was most highly regarded because of its beautiful color and the valuable ultramarine dye derived from it. Its name comes from the Latin lapis, "stone, " and the Persian lazhuward, "blue." It is rock formed by multiple minerals, mostly Lazurite, Sodalite, Calcite and Pyrite, and is a rich medium to royal blue with gold flecks Lapis Lazuli is one of the most sought after stones for healing and is perfect for clearing away emotional baggage.
