How long is the battery life?

The battery will last up to 25 hours with no lights on. Please note, battery life may vary based on temperature, age, and volume usage of product.

 

My Road Rider is not charging. What should I do?

If the battery fails to charge, check the fuse near the power cable input. If the fuse is not intact, please replace it. The battery can be replaced with a 12V 5aH sealed lead-acid battery.

 

How long does a fully-charged battery last?

A fully-charged Road Rider battery can last up to 50 hours at a reasonably loud indoor listening volume.  Battery life may vary based on temperature, age, and volume usage.

 

Is the Road Rider waterproof?

The Road Rider is dust-proof, but not water-proof.  The rubber covers located over the A/C adapter connections are intended to prevent debris such as dust, saw-dust, and dirt from entering and are not water-proof covers.  The rubber dust-covers are not user-replaceable parts.

 

Can the Road Rider charge my iPod/iPhone?

Yes! The Road Rider features a USB charging port that will charge your smartphone or tablet.

Note: To charge smartphones and tablets faster, put the device’s screen to sleep.

 

How far can the Bluetooth connection go?

The range of the Bluetooth connection of a Road Rider is up to 100 feet - as long as the transmitting audio source is not moving around, there are no obstructions between the audio source and the Road Rider, and it is not in a pocket or covered in any way.  The range can also be affected by the Bluetooth chipset in the audio source, as well.

 

Can the A/C outlets work if the Road Rider is running on battery power?

No, the A/C outlets will only work when the Road Rider is connected to A/C power.

 

The sound is coming out distorted. What is happening, and how can I fix it?

If the sound from your Road Rider is coming out distorted, try lowering the volume control of your sound source - such as your iPod or iPhone.  Also, try reducing the overall volume of the Road Rider.  If you continue to experience sound issues after following the steps suggested above, you may want to contact ION Audio Tech Support.

 

Does this come with a microphone?

The Road Rider does not come with a microphone. However, one can be purchased on the ION Audio website, or by contacting the ION Audio Parts department.

 

Will this drain my car battery?

No, the Road Rider has a safety mechanism built-in that will stop the Road Rider from charging when your car battery falls below a certain level.

 

Can I have this plugged in all the time?

Yes! This will not drain the battery or damage the Road Rider.
