Due to its powerful anioxidant properties, it was used as an ayurvedic medicine to boost skin and hair health. Our dried amla can be can be chewed on, but be aware that it is extremely hard and sour. If you want to soften it, soak it in water for 30 mins.
- Dry amla can also be ground in a spice grinder to yield amla powder. The powder in turn can be mixed with water, honey and made into a hair and face mask. Amla works wonders in hair treatment: aiding in hair growth, preventing hair loss and healing damaged hair.
