The JBO has a strong petroleum like odor. The manufacturer advises opening and leaving the pad out for aeration and also to soak the mat in the tray overnight in lukewarm water and giving it a couple of good rinse prior to seeding to get rid of the smell.
- EASY TO USE Mats fit into any standard 20 x 10 trays and provide the perfect base for growing nutritious Microgreens. For best results, soak the mat overnight in a tray with lukewarm water. Following day give the mat couple of good rinse with lukewarm water; This will make sure to completely wet the mat thoroughly as well as remove remnants of the smell.
