An ultra-thin TPU material has been implemented throughout the Nike Zoom Celar 5 Running Spike's upper to deliver excellent support without adding weight. Dyanmic Fit wraps the midfoot region and arch for an adaptive, glove-like fit whilst a series of Flywire cables secure the heel in place and reduce rearfoot movement for a more stable, efficient run. A mesh tongue allows air to fully permeate the spike, whilst lobes positioned inside the heel cushion the rearfoot to provide a snug, comfortable fit. Additional cushioning is provided by a compression moulded, contoured Phylon midsole that also increases shock attenuation. Every tenth of a second can be vital, and as such it is important that effective traction is maintained throughout the duration of a race. With this in mind, the outsole consists of a Pebax® plate (removable five-spike configuration) and aggressive secondary elements that deliver superb grip and traction. A sharkskin heel-pad enhances grip for optimal traction on a swathe of surfaces without compromising the spike's lightweight construction.
